WDT graduates 7 Dental Assistant Apprentices
The 19th Annual Graduation Ceremony of the Dental Assistant Apprenticeship Training Program was held Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Western Dakota Technical Institute. Students enrolled in this program complete 144 hours of classroom training and 1,500 hours on-the-job training.
Dr. Lennard Hopper of Deadwood was the graduation speaker.
The graduates are as follows: Brenda Whetham of Belle Fourche; Leenetta Farwell of Central City; Lindsey Cheesman of Ellsworth AFB, Melissa Goldade, Tish Peterson, and Jennie Rose, all of Rapid City, and Sheila Huck of Sturgis.
Western Dakota Tech is the only technical institute that serves the western South Dakota region. WDT offers more than 20 programs in a variety of fields, including Business and Computers, Construction Trades, Health Services, Legal and Public Services, Manufacturing and Mechanical Trades, and Science and Technology. More than 94 percent of WDT graduates are placed in careers within six months of graduation, and more than 82 percent live and work in South Dakota.
