WDT hosts Flight Night for health and human services programs
Western Dakota Tech invites anyone interested in pursuing a new or better career in Health and Human Services to WDT’s Flight Night scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 8, at WDT in Rapid City. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.
WDT faculty and staff will attend the event to discuss WDT’s Health and Human Services programs and how those programs prepare graduates for careers. Also during the event, admissions experts and staff members will give tours and answer questions.
“WDT’s programs train students for careers that are growing and are in demand,” admissions coordinator Jill Elder said. “Employers want workers with a high level of technical ability and experience to fill the growing number of technical career opportunities available. Many of these fields have more openings than candidates to fill them, and that makes this a great time to gain new or additional training.”
WDT offers the following Health and Human Services programs: Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Administrative Services, Medical Assisting, Medical Transcription, Paramedic, Pharmacy Tech, Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant, Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, Law Enforcement, Fire Science, and Paramedic.
Seating is limited for the event. Reserve a place by contacting WDT at (800) 544-8765, (605) 718-2565, or admissions@wdt.edu. You can register online at www.wdt.edu.
“The event is a perfect opportunity to learn more about WDT’s programs, visit campus, talk with faculty and staff, and see firsthand the classrooms and labs students use,” Elder said. “The open house will give you an up close, personal look at the programs that match your goals and interests.”
Western Dakota Tech is the only technical institute that serves the western South Dakota region. WDT offers more than 20 programs in a variety of fields, including Business and Computers, Construction Trades, Health Services, Legal and Public Services, Manufacturing and Mechanical Trades, and Science and Technology. More than 94 percent of WDT graduates are placed in careers within six months of graduation, and more than 82 percent live and work in South Dakota.
WDT faculty, staff, and administration focus their efforts on helping students gain the skills and experiences they need to succeed. Through hands-on learning, internships, and industry partnerships, WDT students graduate ready to make a real and immediate contribution to their employers and to their communities.
