From the Inside

If you’ve ever wanted to get an insider’s view of America’s scenic and historic national parks, an exciting new program at Western Dakota Tech can help you make it happen.

We’ve partnered with the National Park Service (NPS) to create a unique learning experience for plus 50 adults—and even help you develop the skills you need to become a park volunteer or seasonal employee.

Western Dakota Tech and the National Park Service have created the perfect way for you to apply your skills, interests, and experience in our National Park Service areas.

In just six informative sessions you will learn about:

  • The Rich NPS history and attractions in your own backyard
  • Day-to-day operations at the local national parks
  • How to prepare and present interpretive talks to park guests
  • Employment and volunteer opportunities within the NPS

Students of the program will be trained in both the classroom and at area parks—and have the chance to interact with park superintendents and staff.

Think about it. You can rediscover our wonderful National Park Service areas while helping visitors develop a passion for the places you already love:

  • Badlands National Park
  • Jewel Cave National Monument
  • Minuteman Missile National Historic Site
  • Mount Rushmore National Memorial
  • Wind Cave National Park
