Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Technician
Learn skills in three distinct areas – health unit coordinator, patient care technician, and EKG technician. This diverse set of skills prepares for critical jobs in the healthcare team.
Medical Administrative Services
Gain the skills to be effective as the first person patients meet in a doctor’s office, hospital, or other medical facility. Your duties will be important and vital to the success of any healthcare provider.
Medical Assistant
Learn a broad range of skills for a variety of careers in the medical profession. As a Medical Assistant, you will assist in all aspects of medical care. You will help physicians with patient care management, administrative and clinical procedures, and managerial functions.
Medical Transcription
You will play a very important role in the healthcare field. Healthcare providers will rely on you to accurately transcribe the record of a person's medical history, diagnosis, prognosis, and outcome.
Paramedic
People’s lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care of paramedics. Incidents as varied as automobile accidents, heart attacks, slips and falls, childbirth, and gunshot wounds all require immediate medical attention. Paramedics provide this vital service as they care for and transport the sick or injured to a medical facility.
Pharmacy Technician
You will learn to help licensed pharmacists provide medication and other healthcare products to patients. You will learn to refill prescription requests and pour, weigh, measure, and sometimes mix the medication.
Phlebotomy/Laboratory Assistant
In labs and clinical settings, you will learn to collect blood and other specimens and transport them to the laboratory. As a lab assistant, you will learn to process specimens for testing, perform clerical functions and computer operations, and you may assist in laboratory testing procedures.
Practical Nursing
Learn to play the frontline role in patient care. Licensed practical nurses provide basic bedside care, prepare and give injections, apply dressings, perform other treatments, and keep physicians updated about the conditions of patients.
Surgical Technology
Surgical technologists stand at the leading edge of the surgical revolution, using their professionalism, expertise, and abilities to make a difference. At WDT, you will learn the knowledge and skills you need in surgical sciences, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and patient care so you can provide vital support to the patient and surgical team.
