Q: How do I receive my Financial Aid?
A: WDT disburses your Financial Aid by crediting your Student Account. WDT will collect the amount due for your tuition and fees and calculate your overpayment refund. All students must attend the courses they are enrolled in before receiving a refund. Students with funds disbursed Monday, August 25, will have a refund check available Wednesday, August 27, in Student Accounts. Refunds will then be available every Friday.
Q: How do I know when my Financial Aid will be disbursed?
A: Students will receive a Direct Loan Anticipated Disbursement Notice in the mail indicating the date of your student loan disbursement. This will be the date your loan funds, and likely any grant funds, will be credited to Student Account balances.
Q: What if I have Third Party Funding? (VA, WIA, BIA, etc.)
A: Any student expecting to receive funding other than Financial Aid must verify with the Student Account Office that they have received a Third Party Funding Authorization by Friday, August 22, 2014. If the Student Accounts Office does not have the authorization, any tuition and fees due on a student’s account will be collected from Financial Aid funds disbursed or is expected to be paid by the student. If the student later provides an authorization to Student Accounts, a refund can be processed for any amounts paid by the student or by Financial Aid that the third party intends to pay.
Q: How do I purchase my books?
A: WDT does not allow students to charge books to their Student Account unless they have provided us with a Third Party Authorization. Students can pay for books with personal funds, or they can choose to wait until a Financial Aid refund is available. Students must check with their instructors to verify when books will be needed for coursework.
