Dental Assistant Apprenticeship Training Program
Sponsored by the Black Hills District Dental Society
Students of this program must be employed and sponsored by a licensed dentist to be eligible to fulfill the requirements of this program. The dentist must be a member of the Black Hills District Dental Society.
- U.S. Department of Labor approved program
- State Board of Dentistry approved for the Expanded Functions or Advanced Dental Assistant certification
This course provides classroom and clinical instruction for individuals currently employed in dental offices to complement concurrent on-the-job work experience.
Upon successful completion of the entire program, students will be qualified to perform Advanced Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions, and to administer x-rays (pending submission of application forms, any registration/licensing fees, and approval required by the SD Board of Dentistry.)
- Classroom/Clinical: 144 hours (August-May)
- On-the Job Training: 1,500 hours
