Business - Entrepreneurship
An Entrepreneurship Certificate will prepare students who want to start and operate a successful business of any kind. Students will prepare a comprehensive business plan ready to implement while also learning technical and professional skills through a variety of courses including accounting, project management, supervisory management, small business entrepreneurship, and business law. This certificate is available through classes on campus, online, or a combination of both.
Business Office Professional
The business world offers well-trained students an endless list of opportunities. You can own a business and be your own boss. You can manage a store for someone else. You can run the social media marketing operation for a company or an ad agency. You could manage an office or be an executive assistant. Or, you can use your imagination to do whatever you’ve always dreamed about.

Dental Assisting
Dental assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of quality oral health care and are valuable members of the dental care team.
Health Information Management
The Health Information Management program can prepare you for a variety of careers in the medical office and medical coding professions.
Meat Processing
The Meat Processing program is on hiatus and not enrolling students for the 2024-25 academic year.
A high demand for meat processors in this region has resulted in an innovative partnership between Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) and Wall Meats to offer the Meat Processing program. Classroom instruction is on the WDT campus with hands-on meat processing and retail methods skills taught at the Wall Meats Processing Rapid City location. Meat Processing Associate of Applied Science degree and Diploma options are available. This program prepares students with the necessary skills to be successful in the consumable livestock and animal products industry. We aim to provide students a solid foundation in the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required to be effective and highly successful meat processors.
Phlebotomy/Laboratory Assistant
Phlebotomy/Lab assistants collect and process blood specimens for testing in the medical laboratory.
Plumbing Technology
Our Plumbing program will give you the experience and skills you need to be a successful Plumber. We use lab simulations and real-life scenarios to put classroom theory into practice. We cover soft skills so you can tackle customer service and employee accountability with confidence. Our program is designed to give you the core competencies employers are looking for. These include troubleshooting, problem-solving, customer service, and professional skills in addition to technical Plumbing skills. Graduates of our program enter the Plumbing industry as quality, well-trained entry-level plumbers.
Practical Nursing
The mission of the Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) Practical Nursing Program is to educate graduates to provide safe, quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care as an entry level Practical Nurse in the current healthcare environment.

Precision Machining Technology
Precision Machining Technology is an 11-month diploma program that uses classroom theory, hands-on machining skills training, practical application lab work, and industry internships to allow students to obtain the skills for entry-level machining positions.
It’s the perfect choice for someone who wants to bring ideas to reality, employing ingenuity and hands-on skill in the print to part process.
