WDT has been “changing lives and building futures” in South Dakota for more than 40 years, and the Foundation looks forward to working with partners like you to ensure another 40 years of preparing students for the changing needs of the 21st Century. In 1977, the WDT Foundation was chartered as a not-for-profit South Dakota corporation and was designated as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service. The Foundation Office opened and efforts were initiated to solicit funds for WDT.
In 2005, the WDT Foundation embarked on its first ever major capital campaign, Building the 21st Century Learning Community, raising over one million for economic development, developing 21st Century learners, enhancing quality teaching and providing quality teaching and learning tools.
Beginning in August 2014, the WDT Foundation will launch an aggressive fundraising effort to increase funding for scholarships and for the greatest needs of WDT. By developing an annual fund known as the Eagle Legacy Fund, the WDT Foundation will be able to respond to the changing needs of the institution. The Growing Our Capacity for the 21st Century Annual Campaign and the Major Gifts Campaign will ensure WDT has the funding resources to bring quality students to WDT for the ever-growing critical skills workforce needed.Growing Our Capacity for the 21st Century Annual Campaign and the Major Gifts Campaign will ensure WDT has the funding resources to bring quality students to WDT to learn the critical skills needed for the ever-growing workforce.
