Clubs & Organizations

One of the best ways to get involved on campus is to join student clubs and organizations. Contact the Student Success Center for information.

Your participation in any one of these student clubs and organizations will allow you to:

  • Make a positive difference on campus and in the community
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Interact with faculty, staff, alumni, business and community leaders
  • Make social connections
  • Gain exposure to potential career fields
  • Enhance your resume
  • Prepare for your career

Clubs and organizations vary by interest and participation levels. Here are some recently active clubs at Western Dakota Technical College:

Clubs and Organizations

Cyber-Security Club

This organization shall bring together students that share a common interest in Cyber-Security. It will also provide students with Leadership experience, mentoring for Cyber-Security, opportunities for hand-on experience, as well as resources for scholarship and grants. 

Dental Assisting Club

The Dental Assisting Club was created to provide students with volunteer opportunities and community involvement through the WDTC Dental Assisting Program.

HVAC

The purpose of this club is to raise funds for HVAC projects and for students in the HVAC programs to compete in the SkillsUSA competition.

InterVarsity

The purpose of the Chapter is to establish and advance at Western Dakota Technical College, witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God’s word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purpose in the world.

Medical Lab Professionals

The purpose of the Medical Lab Professionals Club is to include and organize activities for students to grow in their upcoming lab profession.

Native American Student Organization (NASO)

The Native American Student Organization offers students an opportunity to preserve traditional events and promote cultural understanding across the WDTC campus community..

Sexuality and Gender Awareness (SAGA)

SAGA was created to promote awareness of the spectrum of gender and sexuality expression and create an inclusive and safe space for everyone.

Student Activities Leadership Team (SALT)

The Student Activities Leadership team is dedicated to serving our individual students, their organizations, and the diverse community of WDTC; fostering leadership, enhancing communication, and supporting an interactive and successful college experience. 

The WDTC Student Activities Leadership Team supports and serves the Western Dakota Technical College community through: 

  • Community building activities and events. 
  • Facilitating communication between WDTC students, staff, and the Board of Education
  • Providing developmental opportunities and training for students.
  • The responsible and equitable management of WDTC student Activity Funds 
  • Assisting and supporting WDTC student clubs and organizations to effectively meet their goals and initiatives. 
The support of campus-wide student-driven initiatives.

Surgical Technician Club

The purpose of this organization is to promote team building amongst Surgical Technology students and promote involvement of the students in the community.

Warrior Coalition

The Warrior Coalition links veterans and their family members from all branches of the United Sates Armed Forces who have served during times of peace and times of war.  The club strives to support veterans by encouraging broadening of their self-image and by encouraging lifestyle management principles that contribute to success with their academics, community, spiritual and emotional needs.  Such success will lead them to become contributing citizens recognized for their professional and civic achievements.

Wrench Turners United

The purpose of this organization is to fundraise and provide additional items that are needed and wanted for the luxury of the students in the Diesel Tech students as the need arises.
