Build Dakota Signing Day

Western Dakota Technical College recognized 127 Build Dakota Scholarship recipients during a special ceremony on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Students who have been selected received full ride Build Dakota Scholarships.

Scholarship recipients signed their Build Dakota Scholarship certificates and received college pennants. More than 275 parents, friends, and representatives from area businesses sponsoring the Build Dakota scholarships were in attendance.

Students Named to the WDTC 2026 Spring Dean's List Announced

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) congratulates the 195 students named to the 2026 Spring Semester Dean's List. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a minimum of 12 credits in a given semester.

The Dean's List begins with South Dakota students and their hometowns followed by additional states and students.

Explore Your Future Career Possibilities During Visit Night on Tuesday, July 14

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) invites prospective students, families, and community members to attend College Visit Night on Tuesday, July 14, with check-in beginning at 5 p.m.

Attendance is free, and advance registration is encouraged at wdt.edu/visit. Registering helps WDTC personalize each visitor’s experience and provide information tailored to their interests. Those considering attending are encouraged to attend this event and register now, as the next College Visit event will not take place until April 2027.

Summer Hours & June, July Holiday Closures Announced

Western Dakota Technical College has begun summer hours. Campus doors open Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. Business hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with early closing at 12:30 p.m. on June 12, June 26, July 10, July 17, and July 24.

The college will be closed in observance of Juneteenth on June 19 and Independence Day on July 3.

Five Additional WDTC Students Earn Top National Finishes

Anton Allen, a recent Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) Plumbing Technology graduate, earned a gold medal in the Plumbing competition at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference and Competition.  The event took place June 1-5 in Atlanta, Ga.
