Western Dakota Technical College Named One of 150 U.S. Community Colleges Eligible for 2023 Aspen Prize

The Aspen Institute has selected Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) as one of 150 institutions eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation's signature recognition of high achievement and performance among America's community colleges.

According to the Aspen Institute, colleges selected for this honor stand out among more than 1,000 community colleges nationwide as having high and improving levels of student success as well as equitable outcomes for Black and Hispanic students and those from lower-income backgrounds.

WDTC's High School 'Weld to Win' Competition Results Announced

Western Dakota Technical College’s (WDTC) Welding and Fabrication Program hosted its Third Annual “Weld to Win” competition for area high school junior and senior welding students on Oct. 26. Thirty-five participants were scored on a written exam and a welding project they completed at the event. The top 10 finishing students received welding-related prizes.

Need money for college? Attend the Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) Financial Aid Information Session at the college, 800 Mickelson Dr., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30. This event is free and open to everyone, not just those planning to attend WDTC. Registration is not necessary.
