Student Clubs

One of the best ways to get involved on campus is to join student clubs and organizations. Contact the Student Success Center for information.

Your participation in any one of these student clubs and organizations will allow you to:

  • Make a positive difference on campus and in the community
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Interact with faculty, staff, alumni, business and community leaders
  • Make social connections
  • Gain exposure to potential career fields
  • Enhance your resume
  • Prepare for your career

Auto Tech

Black Hills Home Builders Association Club (BHHBA)
The purpose(s) of this organization shall be to bring together students that share a common interest in WDT BHHBA. It will also provide students with Leadership experience, mentoring for WDT BHHBA, opportunities for hand-on experience, as well as resources for scholarships and grants

Cyber Security
The purpose(s) of this organization shall be this organization shall bring together students that share a common interest in Cyber-Security. It will also provide students with Leadership experience, mentoring for Cyber-Security, opportunities for hand-on experience, as well as resources for scholarship and grants.

EET

Electrical Trades
A club dedicated to exploring the field of electricity through industry tours, SkillsUSA participation, cookouts, and building connections.

EMS

HVAC/R
The purpose(s) of this organization shall be to bring together students that share a common interest in HVAC/R. It will also provide students with Leadership experience, mentoring for HVAC/R, opportunities for hand-on experience, as well as resources for scholarships and grants.

NOCS – Night of Country Swing
A club that explores country swing and line dancing. Learning to dance and teaching others. 

Student Activities Leadership Team (SALT)
The Student Activities Leadership team is dedicated to serving our individual students, their organizations, and the diverse community of WDTC; fostering leadership, enhancing communication, and supporting an interactive and successful college experience. 

The WDTC Student Activities Leadership Team supports and serves the Western Dakota Technical College community through: 

  • Community building activities and events. 
  • Facilitating communication between WDTC students, staff, and the Board of Education
  • Providing developmental opportunities and training for students.
  • The responsible and equitable management of WDTC student Activity Funds 
  • Assisting and supporting WDTC student clubs and organizations to effectively meet their goals and initiatives. 
The support of campus-wide student-driven initiatives.

Skills USA
The purpose(s) of this organization shall be this organization shall bring together students that share a common interest in WDTC SkillsUSA. It will also provide students with Leadership experience, mentoring for WDTC SkillsUSA, opportunities for hand-on experience, as well as resources for scholarship and grants.

Veterans Coalition
The Veterans Club links veterans and their family members from all branches of the United Sates Armed Forces who have served during times of peace and times of war.  The club strives to support veterans by encouraging broadening of their self-image and by encouraging lifestyle management principles that contribute to success with their academics, community, spiritual and emotional needs.  Such success will lead them to become contributing citizens recognized for their professional and civic achievements.

Welding Tig
The Welding Tig Club is known as the WDTC Welding SkillsUSA Club- (only known as Tig Club on the Finance/Beth side) The club is for welding students that are interested in participating in SkillsUSA Welding events. The club works together on fundraising projects through sales of welded and fabricated projects. Students may participate in local, state, and national level competitions in the Welding Individual, Team Fabrication, and Welding Sculpture contests.


Wrench Turners
The purpose of this organization is to fundraise and provide additional items that are needed and wanted for the luxury of the students in the Diesel Tech students as the need arises.
