Western Dakota Tech Precision Machining Technology Students to Benefit from State Grant

September 15, 2017

South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced Future Fund awards, on Sept. 14, of almost $865,000 for the state's four technical schools to fund equipment needs in Build Dakota-eligible programs. Western Dakota Tech is receiving $68,000 of the grant money to upgrade and enhance its Precision Machining Technology program.

Western Dakota Tech Ranks as One of Nation's Best Community Colleges

Western Dakota Tech is pleased to announce it ranks as one of the nation’s Best Community Colleges. In WalletHub’s 2017 Best & Worst Community Colleges report, released Aug. 21, Western Dakota Tech placed No. 49 out of 728 community colleges.

South Dakota, as a whole, rated the No. 1 state for the Best Community College System in the United States. Alaska, Washington, Florida and Wisconsin finished out the top five states.

Established in 1968, Western Dakota Tech is the only technical college that serves the western South Dakota region. The college delivers a personal, career-oriented education ideal for the student pursuing a meaningful profession and prideful future. Faculty, staff, and administration are committed to teaching the knowledge, skills, and behaviors students need to find be successful. More than 96 percent of Western Dakota Tech's most recent graduates are working, continuing their education, or are enlisted in the military. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible facilities and technology and recently completed a significant expansion to the campus.
