Kumar Veluswamy Announced as Commencement Speaker

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) is proud to announce a series of celebrations honoring its 2025 graduates. The events, showcasing the achievements of students across various disciplines, highlight the college's commitment to excellence in education and career readiness.

Celebrations will include the college’s 57th Commencement Ceremony, an Outstanding Graduates Banquet, Registered Nurse and Practical Nurse Pinning Ceremonies, a Law Enforcement Graduation Recognition Ceremony, and a Native American Honoring Ceremony.

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) students showcased their outstanding career and technical skills at the SkillsUSA South Dakota Skills Championships, April 10–11, in Mitchell. Competing against peers from Lake Area Technical College, Mitchell Technical College, and Southeast Technical College, WDTC students earned top honors—placing in 11 different events and earning an impressive 19 event medals.

Western Dakota Technical College is proud to announce a one-of-a-kind sustainability-focused event, the Rapid City Earth Day Expo, on April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The admissions free event will bring together the community for a day of family-friendly fun, sustainability education, and hands-on activities. The Expo is co-hosted by South Dakota Mines, Rapid City Sustainability, and Dakota Rural Action, and will take place at Western Dakota Technical College on 800 Mickelson Dr.
