Student Accounts FAQ

What is the cost to attend Western Dakota Tech? Please refer to the Cost Page.

When do I pay my tuition and fees? Tuition and fee balances are due by the first week of class.  Students can contact Student Accounts to set up a payment plan if needed.

Where do I pay for my tuition and fees? In the Student Accounts office, located in Enrollment Services in Dakota Hall.

How do I receive my Financial Aid? Western Dakota Tech disburses your Financial Aid by crediting your Student Account.  Western Dakota Tech will collect the amount due for your tuition and fees and calculate your credit balance.  All students, receiving Federal Pell Grant funds, must attend the courses they are enrolled in before receiving a refund.

How do I know when my Financial Aid will be disbursed? Students will receive a Direct Loan Anticipated Disbursement Notice in the mail indicating the date of your student loan disbursement.  This will be the date your loan funds, and likely any grant funds, will be credited to Student Account balances.

What if I have Third Party Funding?  (VA, WIA, BIA, etc.) Any student expecting to receive funding other than Financial Aid must verify with the Student Account Office that they have received a Third Party Funding Authorization before the semester starts.  If the Student Accounts Office does not have the authorization, any tuition and fees due on a student’s account will be collected from Financial Aid funds disbursed or is expected to be paid by the student.  If the student later provides an authorization to Student Accounts, a refund can be processed for any amounts paid by the student or by Financial Aid that the third party intends to pay.

How do I purchase my books? Bookstore charges may be available one week prior to classes starting, if all Financial Aid paperwork is complete, or written authorization has been received from Third Party agencies. Vouchers will be provided through the Student Accounts Office.
