Potential Participants Information

CPR and First Aid classes are open to the public. Currently, we offer two course options:

BLS
(Basic Life Support) is the CPR course designated for healthcare providers. It is a 4-hour course that covers CPR (adult, infant, and child) and AED. Though it has the "for healthcare providers" designation, anyone can take BLS. BLS is recommended or may be required for WDTC students that are enrolled in a Healthcare program.

HeartSaver is a First Aid/CPR/AED 5-hour course is designed for a more general audience. HeartSaver is required for WDTC students in the Environmental Engineering Tech and the Electrical Trades programs.

Class Cost

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers - $89 Regular*
  • HeartSaver CPR, AED & First Aid - $98 Regular*
  • BLS recertification class - $50 Regular*
*The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

If you cannot attend your scheduled course, please inform the Corporate Education Center as soon as possible by email (corped@wdt.edu) or phone (605-718-2962). Registration may be moved to a future class with availability, or a full refund may be offered for individuals giving at least 72 hours' notice or with an extenuating circumstance for a last-minute cancellation (sickness, death in the family, etc.). This is available one time per student. The full fee will be charged for all further registrations with no refund option.
