Professional Truck Driving Program

This 5-week course prepares students for driving Class A combination vehicles and consists of theory and behind-the-wheel instruction. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, basic vehicle operation: safe operating procedures; vehicle systems; vehicle inspection; behind the wheel range & behind the wheel public road driving.

Accelerated options may be available for individuals with Class A driving experience. Please call 605-718-2410 or choose "Experienced Driver Training-Class A" on the registration form. An assessment is required prior to registering for the accelerated training. Permit (CLP) is required prior to doing assessment and prior to registering.

Class A Cost

Class A: $4,800 - Includes tuition, drug screening, training materials, and the driving test. A student can also expect to incur other costs: DOT physical, written test (permit), and license. Enrollment is limited in this program and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Class A CLP is required prior to registration.

Experienced Driver Training - Class A

A Class A CLP and Assessment is REQUIRED prior to starting the accelerated Class A training. Must have some Class A driving experience or be a previous CDL holder.

We also have a special Experienced Driver package for businesses. Call the Corporate Education Center (605-718-2410) for details and training costs.

The one-day Automatic transmission course prepares drivers to safely and effectively operate an automatic Class B vehicle. Course consists of both theory and behind-the-wheel instruction.
Manual Class B training is also available. This course is scheduled up to two weeks and prepares drivers to safely and effectively operate a manual Class B vehicle. Training consists of both theory and behind-the-wheel instruction.

Class B Costs

Class B Manual: $2,500 - includes tuition, training materials, and the driving test. A student can also expect to incur other costs: DOT physical, written test (permit), and license. Class B Automatic: $1000 - includes tuition, training materials and the driving test. A student can also expect to incur other costs: DOT physical, written test (permit) and license. Enrollment is limited in this program and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Class B CLP required prior to registration.

We now offer school bus training, with options for either Hydraulic or Air Brake busses. Our options for school bus training include:

1. Restricted Class B + School Bus Endorsement (2 day class). Training and testing for this class is all completed in the school bus. The cost is $1,000. Individuals are required to obtain their Class B permit with School Bus endorsement prior to registration. Training dates scheduled as needed.
2. School Bus Endorsement (1-day class). This class is for individuals with a current Class A or B CDL who wish to add the school bus endorsement. The cost is $800. Relevant CLP with School Bus endorsement required at registration. Training dates scheduled as needed.

All school bus classes prepare drivers to safely and effectively operate a school bus and consist of both theory and behind-the-wheel instruction. Training is compliant with ELDT (Entry-Level Driver Training) requirements. Classes are held Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm and are scheduled as needed.
