Preceptor Training

Thank you for your contribution to the Western Dakota Technical College Paramedic Program.  Your confidence in the school and your willingness to serve as a preceptor in the program for our students is very much appreciated.

Western Dakota Technical College is committed to providing high-quality Paramedic education to strengthen the pre-hospital link in the chain of the healthcare team.  This program was developed to provide the student with the opportunity to obtain the highest level of Paramedic certification.  It is an intense learning experience consisting of didactic presentations, skills practicum, clinical and field residencies, and a field internship.

The field internship preceptor handbook has been designed to assist you in the planning and orientation process as a preceptor.  It also contains reference information on objectives and competencies and evaluation forms that you will be completing throughout the year.

Preceptor training is a requirement of CoAEMSP (accrediting agency) and ALL preceptors must complete preceptor training PRIOR to precepting any paramedic student from Western Dakota Technical College.

We look forward to your participation in the education of these students.  If at any time you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us.

Thank you once again for your commitment to this educational program.

Mary Grassrope – WDT Paramedic Director
