National Exam Training

These courses are tailored for experienced South Dakota Dental Assistants with a minimum of two consecutive years of working experience in the dental field, specifically in dental assisting. Your supervising dentist must be willing to endorse your application to take the exam. These preparatory exams are designed to equip you for the Certified Dental Assistant examinations administered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc., (DANB). The courses encompass the following content areas and incorporate practice exams.
General Chairside - $1000

This course aims to prepare individuals for knowledge-based competence in general chairside assisting tasks essential to ensuring the health and safety of patients and dental healthcare personnel. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of key responsibilities, including patient care, infection control, instrument handling, and procedural support. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to fulfill chairside assisting roles effectively, contributing to dental healthcare teams with professionalism and confidence.


Infection Control - $1000

This course focuses on developing the knowledge-based competence necessary for effective dental infection prevention and control. Participants will learn essential tasks critical to ensuring the health and safety of both patients and dental healthcare personnel. Through comprehensive instruction, students will gain a deep understanding of infection prevention protocols, including the latest guidelines and best practices. Upon completion, individuals will be equipped to implement these strategies in dental settings, contributing to a safer and healthier environment for all.


Radiology - $500

This course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge-based competence required for effective radiation health and safety in dental settings. Participants will learn essential tasks crucial to ensuring the health and safety of both patients and oral healthcare workers. The curriculum covers a range of topics, including radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection principles, and regulatory requirements. Upon completion, students will be prepared to implement radiation safety protocols in oral healthcare settings, safeguarding the well-being of all individuals involved.
