WDTC Announces New Board of Trustees Members, Honors Outgoing Leaders

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) is pleased to welcome two new members to its Board of Trustees. Kirk Easton, Superintendent of the Spearfish School District, and Jeff Rieckman, Superintendent of the Haakon School District in Philip, have joined the Board.

In addition, Mike Roesler, former Rapid City Area Schools Board President and retired firefighter, has been reappointed to continue his service. The WDTC Board elected him Vice Chair in its July meeting.

WDTC Enters Articulation Agreement with SD Mines Benefiting Environmental Engineering Tech Graduates

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) President Dr. Kendra Ericson, center, and South Dakota Mines President Dr. Brian Tande, left, have signed an articulation agreement that allows WDTC Environmental Engineering Technician graduates to transfer credits directly into Mines’ bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering. This partnership provides a clear path for WDTC graduates to continue their education and advance in their careers. Students from Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) once again demonstrated their exceptional trades knowledge at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Excellence Conference. This year’s event took place in Atlanta, Ga., June 23-27, and is the largest skill competition of its kind.

Students Named to 2025 Spring Dean's List Announced

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) congratulates the 208 students named to the 2025 Spring Semester Dean's List. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a minimum of 12 credits in a given semester.

The Dean's List begins with South Dakota students and their hometowns followed by additional states and students.
